Bannock & Tea

We are thrilled to host Bannock & Tea in partnership with artsPlace Canmore.

Engage with Stoney Nakoda women elders for four evenings of Stoney language, culture and traditions. Through interactive conversations, topics will include simple phrases, alphabet and other language based projects. The elders will share their cultural wisdom and engage participants in learning, while telling stories of their lives and families. 

Bannock and tea will be served.

Thursdays from 6pm-7:30pm (4 evenings total)

Lifeways Artist Workshop: Dreamcatcher

Join us for this one of a kind opportunity to learn a traditional First Nations skill with Georgina Twoyoungman, Stoney Nakoda First Nations.

On Saturday June 2 from 2-4pm we are hosting a workshop where you will make your own beautiful dreamcatcher. 

Bring a trinket, natural or decorative item of personal meaning to place on your dreamcatcher.

Lifeways Artist Workshop: Feather

Join us at Lifeways for a unique workshop and wonderful day of reconciliation and connection. 

Nakoda First Nations artisans Helmer and Warren Twoyoungman will be mentoring participants in making a unique beaded and painted ornamental feather. This is an opportunity to take home your own traditional art piece.

Our workshops & events support traditional Indigenous artisans and their families.
